Additional Terms and Conditions

1. The Prize: one sub-orbital flight as provided by Space Adventures Ltd, which defines a sub-orbital flight as a mission that flies out of the Earth's atmosphere but does not reach speeds needed to sustain continuous orbiting of the Earth.

2. The winner will also receive 2 aeroplane flight tickets from the UK to the launch site for themselves and one accompanying person of their choice.

3. Departure Date: Departures are currently planned to take place in the 2009 time frame, though the departures could be sooner or later. An official announcement of the Confirmed Departure Date will be made as soon as it is possible.

4. Health Notice: The Space Adventures sub-orbital space flight programme is intended for persons in generally good health 18 years of age or older and without physical disabilities, that would create a hazard either for the Participant or other participants. The Participant must certify that he/she does not have any physical or other condition or disability that would create a hazard for him/herself or other participants. A medical questionnaire will be provided to the Participant to complete and return within 30 days for medical screening. In the event of a medical issue on the questionnaire, the Participant will be referred to their physician to address the issue in question.

Because a person's physical condition can change over time, (1) a Flight Screen Physical must be undertaken between 150 and 130 days prior to scheduled departure, and (2) a final health screening by a physician will be made before the start of the programme to check for any conditions that could jeopardize either the individual involved or the group. Space Adventures reserves the right to disqualify any Participant at this or any time during the programme should the person's health impede the operation of the programme.

5. Participation: Space Adventures and New Scientist reserve the right to decline acceptance of any individual as a trip participant for any reason whatsoever. Space Adventures has the right to use any photographic or video images, or audio tracks, of a Participant for use in the Space Adventures' Web sites, marketing materials, and media productions or presentations. Space Adventures will require participants to sign their release of liability agreement.

6. Itinerary Changes & Sub-Orbital Trip Delay: Space Adventures reserves the right to change a programme's dates, itineraries or accommodations. If a trip must be delayed, or the itinerary changed due to weather conditions, transportation delays, government intervention, or other contingencies over which Space Adventures has no control and its agents cannot make provision, the cost of delays or changes to itineraries or accommodations is not included, and will be charged to the Participant at cost.

7. Itinerary Cancellation: Space Adventures reserves the right to cancel an itinerary before departure for any reason whatsoever, including logistical problems such as strikes, wars, acts of God, or any other circumstances, which may make operation of the trip inadvisable.

8. Passport & Visa Requirements: All Participants are responsible for securing proper documentation and vaccination certificates for entry into the U.S. or other country of departure.

9. Vehicle Selection: Space Adventures has agreements with the developers of certain Reusable Launch Vehicles ("RLVs"). All of these RLVs are designed to make sub-orbital space flight. Space Adventures reserves the right to decide which vehicle will be used for the Participant's flight based on Space Adventures' sole discretion.
