Simplicity, the mother of all invention

I speak of the humble paper clip, recommended by some big names in the micro technology industry as the perfect tool to reset a dodgy hard disk, clean mouseballs etc etc. What other product has won design awards for achieving the holy grail of architecture, the perfect marriage of form and function.
