Day 4: Today I have continued with my DIY. I spent this morning painting, and have just been measuring up for the curtains and carpet.

Today, the world’s best patented invention is the tape measure. Apart from being useful in my lounge just now it is invaluable in surveying, engineering, clothing manufacture, construction etc. etc. It is universal, uniform, non language-dependent, takes up little space and is low cost.
