It has to be the Telescope.

Even though the telescope has been around as long as man could manipulate sand into glass it was not until the late 15 hundreds that a spectacle maker called Hans Lippershey of Holland introduced the Telescope to the wider public, but it was a famous Italian called Galileo Galilei that in 1609 introduced this truly amazing invention to its true home astronomy and with this mankind's eyes were truly opened, and with the help of people like Sir Isaac Newton man has been able to expand its knowledge of the universe.

And in short without the telescope we would still be starring up to the sky wondering if the moon were made of cheese, and this is why I Michael Alain Hogbin am proud to put forward the telescope as mankind's most Important invention.

Since i was a boy Ive always tried to wish the same wish on the first star i see, the wish normally goes "Star light star bright first star i see tonight i wish i may i wish i might SEE THE EARTH FROM THERE ONE NIGHT".
