Interior Car Design and Shoes

The shoe is the biggest invention ever. No other invention in history has contributed so much to the moveability of humans. Todays world of Bell Hueys, Airbus 340s, or overcrowded trains in India have transported people only a fraction of the distance that shoes have done.

The importance is staggering. If no shoes then we would never have heard about Hanibal, and the Romans would not have reached as far as England. Gandhi would not have gotten his salt and Mao would not look down on people from an oversized poster on the Tian An Men square.

And what about the small things: If no shoes then the pedals in your sports car would never have been the cool looking aluminium ones with drilled holes. It would have hurt your feet. In stead they would have looked like big fluffy bunny ears that are gentle to your feet and it would not have looked cool at all.

So in a sense the man from the stone ages that got the idea to wrap some fur around his feet saved todays Audi A6 from looking completely daft. To commemorate that I suggest that Audi delivers one nice pair of hand sewed moccasins in the glove compartment of every car they sell.
