A load of crap

The world's best patented invention is the toilet.

Let's not get distracted by whether or not the invention and patent belongs to Thomas Crapper, but examine the facts.

Yes, the toilet has improved sanitation and human comfort immeasurably, but its contribution to humanity's progress is far far greater than merely that.

It's a scientific fact that we have our best ideas on the toilet. Technology has leaped forward in the last 2 centuries. That's because all those ideas were conceived on the loo.

The toilet is where we go to relax, meditate and improve our minds through literature (and not forgetting the crossword or sudoku). Solitude in a chaotic stressful world. The toilet has vastly improved humanity's spiritual and mental welfare.

If we spent more time on the toilet, and less time increasing our carbon footprint, we could even reduce global warming.

So you see, the toilet could even save the planet.

And that's why both the toilet and I are winners.

In my case, Kakuro goes better on the loo while Sudoku - in the bath. I haven't managed to find a legitimation of it yet but it works.
